Joseph Medicine Crow of the Crow Native American Tribe, located near Billings, Montana, and the Little Big Horn National Monument passed this past Sunday at the age of 102. He may be one of the last remaining survivors to have heard the real stories about that infamous battle from his elders, passed down in their customary oral traditional manners of preserving their history and heritage, honorable and courageous.
He also wrote a book, one may purchase through Amazon or Barnes & Noble called "From the Heart of the Crow Country", published in 1992.

Here is a good link to show the flood devastation in southeastern Louisiana these past few days. Almost like a hurricane the mighty rains have flooded the major rivers flowing through this hard-hit state again. The Amite River, which flows parallel to the Mississippi, has set records for its flood levels as once again levees cannot hold these incredible waves of water gushing downstream through Louisiana, especially Ascension Parish of Baton Rouge and Denham Springs, Springfield, and Walker, Louisiana areas.

And in California, a new fire has ravaged 30,000 acres where more than 80,000 people have needed to leave this area now known as the "Blue Cut Fire," along the Cajun Pass near San Bernardino, east of LA.
